RETROSPECTIVE:
Alicia (pronounced a-lish-a) was born to Allan and Delima Hegland in Philadelphia, PA. Her heritage is Sioux, Irish and Norwegian, just to name a few. When she was just five, her family moved to Tokio, ND (Spirit Lake Reservation) where her mother was born and raised. Her parents' divorced shortly after and Alicia was raised by different aunts and uncles throughout North Dakota. She went to school in St Michael, Devils Lake, Williston, and Tioga. She attended Williston State College and UND. Her career in radio broadcasting and television helped her pay for school. She later graduated from Minot State University with a Bachelors degree in Broadcasting, and a minor in Public relations and Advertising. She was a News Anchor, producer and reporter for KMOT TV in Minot before moving to Bismarck, ND. Alicia has always had a love for music. Her first solo was in the second grade christmas program! Her musical influences vary greatly from Patsy Cline to Faith Hill, Shania Twain, Reba McEntire and Etta James. She loves Ted Nugent, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and any classic rock song. But her all time favorite is Elvis Presley. Alicia's goal is to become a country music singer with a whole lotta soul. Alicia is a Leo, prefers a Bud Light or Captain Morgan and good classic rock song on the jukebox (when the band isn't playing of course!).
